4 Ways to Make Your Living Room Cozier

It's all about staying cozy this winter in Pennsylvania! At Packard Paint Decorating Centers, we know the living room is the heart of your home. It’s where loved ones gather for movie nights, board games, and meaningful conversation.

If your space feels like it could use a change, now's the perfect time to make a change. With some simple updates, you'll revive the room as the ultimate cozy and welcoming retreat!

1. Wrap Your Room in Warmth With Benjamin Moore Paints

This winter, a new coat of Benjamin Moore paint is your first step in cozying up the living room. Warming hues are your best bet for this type of refresh. In particular, Benjamin Moore Lenox Tan HC-44 is an appealing khaki color that offers both classic comfort and modern elegance.

Pair this wall color with plush throw blankets in rich tones like deep burgundy and rust orange. Then, layer pillows with varying textures, such as cable knit or velvet. The contrasting textures create visual interest.

2. Keep Out the Chill With Stylish Window Treatments for Living Rooms

It's impossible to be cozy in a living room when there's a draft, and your first line of defense here is new window treatments for living rooms from Hunter Douglas. For the ultimate insulator, consider Hunter Douglas cellular shades that trap air within their unique honeycomb design.

While cellular shades make a fantastic choice, they’re not your only option for living room shades. You may prefer the beautiful look of Hunter Douglas Roman shades. Rest assured that these shades also work overtime to insulate with their thick, layered fabrics.

3. Ground Your Space With Eco-Friendly Rugs

Nothing pulls a living room together like a well-placed rug, bringing snug softness underfoot. Look for natural, non-toxic rugs made from wool, jute, or organic cotton. Wool rugs are incredible for upping the homey feeling because they naturally insulate and regulate temperature.

As a bonus, these materials are free of harmful chemicals commonly found in conventional rugs, making your living room cozier and healthier.

4. Dedicate a Corner as Your Reading Retreat

Is there anything more cozy than a reading nook? We think not! That's why we recommend dedicating a corner of your living room to relaxation. A cushy chair, soft throw blanket, and small side table holding your favorite books alongside a steaming mug of your favorite warm beverage are all a must.

Finish the nook with a floor lamp with a fabric shade that emits a gentle glow. Now, you're ready to unwind with your latest read!
